Camellia Japonica IV
Camellia Japonica IV
from $125.00
Each spring I venture out with my camera searching for flowers. I love springtime for the explosion of color, the boldness of new life, and freshness in the air. I am drawn to flowers for their beauty, color and inherent feminine energy.
Emerging is a theme I work with when making portraits of the natural and botanical world. Emerging from the past, and from concealment into wholeness, beauty, infinite possibilities and so on. I often employ shallow depth of field to evoke these notions, as well as a sense of mystery. I want the viewer to feel they are being pulled in to a secret world.
I often take myself to the National Arboretum in Washington, DC to visit the Camellias on Hickey Hill. This beauty is part of the Asian collection.
